Wood privacy fencing is one of the more popular fence styles in the Tennessee Valley. If properly maintained a wood fence can last up to 20 years. A clear stain or seal will preserve and maintain the natural look while providing a longer life for your Jones Fence Company wood fence. Changes in widths and accents allow us to easily customize different looks. Below are a few sample fence styles our company can provide.
When you’re considering putting up a privacy fence, you’re likely looking at wood fences made out of one of two materials: treated lumber or red cedar. Treated lumber tends to last longer when out in the elements, as every fence is - except when it comes to the unpredictable Alabama weather. The tendency for Alabama to go from extreme heat to extreme cold can cause the wood to warp and bend, leaving you with a less attractive fence. We try to compensate for this by using metal fence poles as support between the panels, but it’s definitely something to consider.
The other option you have in privacy wood fences is western red cedar. This hearty and durable material lasts longer than other materials, especially because we use 3/4 inch boards to ensure its strength. The cedar’s natural resistance to termites and other insects also help its longevity.
We can handle a host of different wood styles, allowing you to not only match the practical needs of a privacy fence with the finish of custom carpentry. For example, you can opt for a cap and trim fence or board on board fencing to change the look of your yard. If you’re looking for a way to make both you and your neighbour happy, you might consider either the good neighbor privacy fence (which allows both neighbors to get some of the “good” part of the fence) or the board on board fence (which allows very little space between the boards and therefore offers additional privacy).
